🛠️ Step-by-Step Flashing Procedure (Using Mi Flash Tool)

Once you have backed up your data, installed the Mi Flash Tool, and extracted the Fastboot ROM, follow these steps precisely to flash the stock firmware onto your Redmi Note 8.

Step 1: Boot into Fastboot Mode

1. Power Off your Redmi Note 8 completely.

2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button simultaneously.

3. Continue holding both buttons until the Fastboot screen appears (you will see the Mi Bunny logo tinkering with the Android mascot).

4. Connect your phone to your Windows PC using the USB cable.

Step 2: Prepare the Mi Flash Tool

1. Open the Mi Flash Tool program on your PC. It is recommended to run it as an Administrator.

2. Click the Refresh button in the top-left corner. Your device should appear in the list with a long serial number or code. If it doesn't, ensure your drivers are installed correctly and try a different USB port.

3. Click the Select button. Navigate to the location where you extracted the Fastboot ROM file (e.g., C:\ROM\ginkgo_global_images_V12.0.3.0.QCOMIXM_20200810.0000.00_10.0).

   Important: Select the main folder that contains the images folder, not the images folder itself.

Step 3: Choose the Flashing Script (Critical)

Look at the bottom right corner of the Mi Flash Tool. You must select one of the three options. Choosing the wrong option can lead to data loss or bricking.

Option	What It Does	When to Use It
Clean all (or Flash all)	Wipes all user data and internal storage. Keeps the bootloader unlocked.	Recommended for most users. Use this to fix severe issues or if you plan to install a custom recovery later.
Save user data	Preserves photos, music, and other files on internal storage.	Only use if your issue is minor and you need to save data (Not recommended for fixing bootloops).
Clean all and lock	Wipes all data and RE-LOCKS the bootloader.	Only use if you are flashing the official ROM for your specific region and want to return to a fully factory state. DO NOT USE if you are flashing a custom ROM or a regional ROM different from your device's origin.

Step 4: Execute the Flash

1. Once you have selected your desired script (we recommend Clean all), click the large Flash button.

2. The flashing process will begin. You will see a progress bar and status updates in the log window.

3. DO NOT disconnect the phone or interrupt the process. This can permanently damage your device.

4. Wait for the status to show Success (it usually takes 5-10 minutes).

Step 5: First Boot

1. Once the status is marked Success, your Redmi Note 8 will automatically reboot.

2. The first boot after a clean flash can take a very long time (sometimes up to 10-15 minutes). Be patient and let the device complete the setup process.

You have now successfully flashed the official Stock ROM onto your Redmi Note 8!
